You can find the historic event location Het HEM in Zaandam, on the Hembrug site. It used to be a bullet factory, highly secured and surrounded by high fences, where ammunition was produced for the Dutch army. It shut down in 2003, and from then on creative minds and artists settled themselves in the area. Today the area has been completely transformed into a residential and recreational area where contemporary art programs are presented. This cultural location of 10,000 m2 has an industrial character with a great variety of spaces. From the cozy 'Living room', the 'Dark room', the 'Expo' to the 'Grey space'.
